Fire on the Steppes

Cossacks and Tartars, Turks and Hussars clashed in a mighty participation game put on at Hotlead 2001.  Initiated by the always energetic Mark (lead researcher and head chef), Geoff Nurcombe (Chief Painter and Terrain Guru) and Tony Stapells (Hitchhiker) put on a spectacular game that managed to win the coveted "Best Horse and Musket" game at Hotlead 2001.  We did mention that the game was more properly of the "Pike Shot" era, but Horse and Musket was the closest award given.

Set somewhere in Southern Poland, this hypothetical battle featured Poles and some Imperial German allies, versus Ottoman Turks, who managed to convince the wild Cossacks to join them in plunder.
