Colonel Ripperton

Colonel Ripperton

Ripperton

Colonel Ripperton's two opponents break and run, by Jove!  As is his wont, Ripperton positioned himself near some bushes, should the need arise to make a hasty, albeit concealed, retreat.  In this instance it was unnecessary.  Ripperton decided he had accomplished his duty and ran off with all haste to make it to the steam boat.  Aside from a few dirt stains and perhaps the odd tear in his uniform Ripperton remained unscathed during the battle.  A nearly unheard of occurence.  As he stood astride the deck of the retreating steamer Ripperton used all of the insults he could recall from his early days in the army to belittle the pursuing natives.
